Abstract


An excitation controller, which ensures generator`s regular operation, is an important part of the synchronous generator and meaningful to the stability of the power systems. With the increase of a single generator and the development of the modern power system, higher requirements have been put forward to the excitation controller, including controlling performance and speed, performances of protection and so on. The excitation controllers are innovated constantly with the development of control theories, power electronics technology and chip manufacture technology. Digital technology is now the development tendency for excitation controllers. Under this background, this thesis designs the excitation controller based on TMS320F28335 DSP.This thesis expounds the importance of excitation system and gives a brief introduction of excitation control system on its basic concepts, classification, and research status, explains the operating principles of the system; studies various kinds of control methods and there applying status: PID excitation, PSS(power system stabilizer), linear optimizing strategy and non-linear strategy; then chooses the control strategy for this system. This thesis complete the hardware and software designs for the excitation system, the hardware design includes chip selecting, analog sampling, synchronization signal sampling, switch signal dealing with, SCI and CAN communication modules and all block diagrams. The software designs includes electric parameters obtaining, phase shift angles calculating, pulse signal creating, excitation references and limits calculating and communication modules and all the program trees.This thesis builds the simulation platform of excitation system based on Saber and sets the corresponding simulation environment. Through non-load starting experiment, the effect of every parameter of PID control strategy can be analysed and its improved strategies are put forward. Through reference┬▒10% change, abrupt change of load, and parallel running, the thesis proves the control strategy of this excitation controller.
