Abstract

Liaoyang Petro China Limited is located in the watershed of Taizi river, in Liaoyang city, Liaoning Province, its annual wastewater discharge is 79200m3/d, annual average COD is below 80mg/L, and TN at 30-45mg/L, exceeding the The Effluent Wastewater Discharge Standards in Liaoning Province(DB21/1627-2008) COD=50mg/L、TN=15mg/L and the carrying capacity of Taizi river, causing the deterioration of river water quality in both Taizi and Liao river area, influencing the health of people and production of agriculture and industry.Liao Yang Petro China limited and Taizi River are both listed in the 1 lth 5 year plan for major pollution control in Liao river area, as the national key projects for improving river quality. This paper studied A/O-MBR process to treat polyester fiber wastewater for upgrading the existing treatment process. The subject of this study is PTA comprehensive wastewater which produced from polyester process in a petrochemical company in Liaoning Province. A/O submerged membrane bioreactor (A/O-MBR) process is used in this pilot test. After 60 days of operation, the test results show that the treatment effects of the system are satisfactory. The A/O-MBR process could cope with fluctuations of increase of COD in influent from 291 to 713 mg/L, when TN in influent changed within 19-51mg/L, The effluent quality is COD<30mg/L, ammonia nitrogen<0.2mg/L, TN<10mg/L, and the MBR effluent turbidity <0.2NTU, SS<5mg/L, oil content<0.3mg/L, so the system results were better than The Effluent Wastewater Discharge Standards in Liaoning Province(DB21/1627-2008), also meet the water quality requirements for national industrial cycle cooling water reuse.
