In recent years, gas-insulated substations (GIS) to the structure of compact, small size, small footprint, reliable operation, less maintenance, less environmental pollution, has been more widely used in the power system. Bus parameters calculated deduced impedance formula and bus simulation using finite element simulation software Ansoft maxmell 2D to draw finite element calculations and impedance formula to calculate the accuracy of the results of comparison testing formulas; join grounding device modeling, GIS shell, while analysis of distributed parameter effects of the grounding device; GIS basic circuit using power system transient analysis software PSCAD / EMTDC line VFTO influencing factors were analyzed and presented some VFTO prevention and resolution measures. PSCAD / EMTDC software simulation model, consider the effect of GIS grounding device distribution parameters and analog isolation switch the GIS shell circulation circuit breaker operation, this paper directly to VFTO voltage wave introduced model analysis of GIS circulation was out of circulation waveform, then with the test data were compared. Selection of approximate analytical method to study transient ground potential rise in PSCAD / EMTDC establish the GIS shell potential calculation model to analyze the transient ground potential rise in line voltage transient ground potential rise, PSCAD / EMTDC basic modeling and simulation data with test match, in order to verify the correctness of the model; to consider grounding device position on the impact of transient ground potential rise, draw grounding device away from qualifying sets closer, the docking location as well as the points transient ground potential rise was inhibited, the better; installation of capacitors, research capacitance value line transient ground potential rise across the insulating flange; installation of metal oxide surge arresters at the insulating flange, compare insulating flange between the installation of some of the characteristics of metal oxide surge arresters and metal arresters installed in the inhibitory effect of transient ground potential rise between the insulating flange obtained transient ground potential rise. Select a 500kV hydropower GIS system as the object of analysis PSCAD / EMTDC software modeling research in GIS the key node VFTO voltage, and over-voltage statistics obtained statistics overvoltage; then on the GIS system shell circulation, calculated results with the experimental data control; study transient ground potential rise in the GIS system transient ground potential rise voltage waveform consistent calculation results with the experimental data, verify that the model is calculated in the model created by the correctness and validity.
