Abstract


Service-learning concept originated from the United States, it is a service and learning both experience education , its function covers almost the individual and society at all levels , such as to increase students' academic intelligence , critical thinking skills and self- concepts , school climate and school and community relations through service learning improvement . Service Learning in the 1960s, formally proposed in the 1970s in many campus flourish , now in the U.S. and multi-national primary and secondary schools is widely used . Service-learning concept and practical experience for our basic education curriculum reform and the Comprehensive Practice Courses carried out , it has a lot of reference. This study is divided into four parts. The first section briefly describes the research the origin, the domestic and foreign scholars to the United States service learning issues related to research , and related concepts are defined. The second part outlines the U.S. service learning basic meaning , and service learning historical evolution , and service learning -related policies to interpret . On this basis , the service learning ideological basis to sort out . This paper argues that a typical service-learning projects should meet the community 's needs , students in the service learning process as a leader involved, service-learning content to be with the knowledge related to the students have enough time to reflect , in schools and communities to establish good relations of cooperation . The third part from a practical level introduces American schools service learning status of implementation . Were introduced service learning for students, schools and teachers and community impact on service-learning activities are classified , focusing on service-learning implementation of operational and quality standards , and in a typical case illustrates the implementation of the specific steps. The fourth part of the US-based Schools for service learning situation , trying to generalize the U.S. service-learning as a favorable factor , draw meaningful experience for China's basic education reform and the Comprehensive Practice Courses carried out to provide practical reference .
