Abstract

In recently, with the implementation of increasing enrollment, China’s higher education has entered into popular education era. Popularization of higher education put forward new requirements for talents quality, talents training target and talents training modes. Cultivation of innovative talents, college students’ own business ability and practical skills have become the new standard of measure talents quality under the new situation. By analysis of the aspects of management model, course offered, education quality assurance system and employment situation of graduates of the transportation major and the international shipping management in Dalian Maritime University, and combine the questionnaire survey from previous graduates and teachers. This paper put forward the approach and means to improve the college students training quality of the subjects like traffic and transportation engineering of the colleges and universities. This paper is divided into four parts:Chapter one introduces the research background, present research situation of home and abroad.In chapter two, take the traffic and transportation engineering and the international shipping management subjects of Dalian Maritime University for example to analyze the college students’ training system and the employment status of this university concluded that, first, the talents training of traffic and transportation engineering subject and international shipping management subject have distinct shipping characteristic, mature specialty construction, good college students’ training quality and high employment quality of graduate; second, the talents cultivate mode of traffic and transportation engineering subject of this university followed the traditional mode, required course credits proportion is overweight, occupied the part of elective course; the proportion of practice credits is little and the schedule is not reasonable; humanistic quality education is politicization, lake of humanity spirit education; enterprise education and careers education is insufficient. In chapter three, from the questionnaire and interview record from students and teachers, in-depth analysis of the contradiction between supply and demand of Dalian Maritime University students training of traffic and transport engineering subject:the practice of hands-on ability can not meet the social demands; students’professional knowledge is narrow and low level of application; non-intelligent factors such as student’psychological quality has to be strengthened; the employment guidance can not meet college students’employment application requirement.In chapter four, put forward the approach to improve the college students training of traffic and transport engineering subject, include creating university-enterprise cooperation, combining the talent training and social demand; pay attention to scientific culture education and humanistic quality education, pay attention to the humanistic spirit edification; improve the quality of college talents training system, make the work of supervise teaching and study comprehensive; Undertaking multi-level of college students’career education and improve the quality of college students’employment
