Abstract


Observing from the history of higher education, we conclude that higher education center shift happens in the process of its unbalanced development, as country’s prosperity and decline existing in the unbalance development of world’s political and economic development as well as science center shifts in that of science and technology development. Related research shows that: higher education center have been transferred four times Since the Renaissance, which in turn after Italy, Britain, France, Germany and the United States. powerful nations of higher education are those which are higher education center. We should take quality improving as the center and make bigger stride toward powerful nation of higher education. The experiences and lesson of other countries have some reference for developing into powerful nation of higher education in China.on the basis of existing researches, writer of this paper firstly presents the definition of "higher education center", and then choose three countries--- Italy, Germany, the United States as cases of higher education center. The background and cause why the three countries become the world’s higher education center will be explored through description of some significant education events -----establishment of famous universities, fruitful education reform, famous educators and so on.Based on the previous paper, the last chapter summarizes the world common law of higher education center as follows: Centers are formed under the background of social transformation ,which is accompanied With science center and consistent with the notions of university development .Each center has its own international influence. Suggestions to develop China into a powerful nation of higher education: Seize the opportunity to accelerate the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation’s history; Open wider to the outside world; learn from all conducive higher education power construction of outland experience; Emancipating the mind, and actively explore systems that support and guide construction of higher education state in China, People-oriented, upholding the primary task of cultivating innovative talents and academic masters, ensuring the priority, unswervingly to construct a group of world class university.
