Abstract

Brillouin distributed optical fiber sensor is a new sensing technology, which is the use of optical fiber Brillouin scattering sensitivity to temperature and strain sensing probe for long distances . The Brillouin ring laser is an optical fiber and a pump light are separated to produce a Brillouin frequency shift of the laser technology. These two technologies in recent years, more and more people's attention, this article is also based on Brillouin scattering sensing and laser technology as the main object of study . Full mainly in three aspects of the study . First , the steady state in theory for the long and short transients these two different situations , using different numerical solution of simulated Brillouin coupled wave equations . And one of the important parameters and for the general rules discussed. Based on this , a novel differential double pulses (DDP) sensing technology , thus ensuring a large dynamic range , the second order of meters , while the spatial resolution is greatly improved for the slight shift of the detection capability , to achieve less than 1 MHz of the minimum detectable change . Secondly , in theory, simulation and Brillouin fiber ring cavity fiber ring laser characteristics , and actually build a Brillouin scattering based fiber laser systems . For laser experiments to establish , for each parameter for debugging and grasp the changes and to get a stable near 10 dBm Brillouin laser output . Finally, with the fiber ring laser and Brillouin Brillouin distributed sensor , a novel sensing system , thereby eliminating the need for frequency shift device , and reduces the requirement for the light source . Then the system structure is relatively simple and guarantees a long case, the temperature and strain information for distributed sensing .
