Abstract


Since the fifties of last century, China has been taking higher professional education is the road. But with the ongoing reform and opening up, the deepening of international cooperation, the rapid economic development, the students trained by universities faced with a serious problem, that is, the actual needs of society become increasingly out of touch, not the specific performance of the knowledge structure reasonable narrow range of knowledge, innovation ability, and study a range of issues weak. Fast development of modern science and technology, some previous subjects not covered by the continuous generation of new, emerging new research directions, the community demand for talent also tend to feature an integrated compound. Faced with these complex and difficult issues, China’s higher education go from here. From the beginning of reform and opening up, with the door open, our scholars will turn their attention overseas to find the answer. Constantly exploring and thinking in general education that the successful practice of Western countries the mode of education for many years, caused great attention of the education sector. Educators will be absorbed in this educational philosophy and practice, to actively explore how to use our national conditions to promote higher education in general education capabilities. It is because of hard work and efforts of these predecessors, our research in the theory and practice of general education have made great achievements. Higher Education Reform in General Education is an important direction of development on the basis of the previous general education theory and practice to continue research and exploration, will benefit the development of higher education.In terms of the current general education in China, carried out in good or major universities, their disciplines due to their own strengths and resources, and generally not a small gap opened institutions, and researchers are more willing to put into such efforts institutions. The new engineering colleges of higher education emerging as a member of key universities in China than there is a big gap in many aspects, how to obtain a place in the fierce competition is a question worth pondering. This will be the Chongqing Science and Technology, for example, to explore the development of the new General Education College of Engineering in the problems and try to put forward for the new General Education College of Engineering in the implementation of countermeasures.Thesis consists of five parts, the first and elaborated significance of the topic and research status. The second part of the definition of the concept of general education, describes the history and implementation of the necessity of general education. Chongqing is the third survey conducted by Science and Technology, and analysis of relevant data. The fourth part in investigations based on analysis of the implementation of new engineering colleges of general education problem. PartⅤdescribes the author on how to implement the new General Education College of Engineering in the countermeasures.
