The wireless sensor network (WSN, Wireless Sensor Network) technology is an emerging technology , it has a very broad application prospects . The wireless sensor network is information perception and the acquisition of a revolution that will have far-reaching impact on human life and production . The wireless sensor network is typically constituted by a number of different types of sensor nodes , they can be widely distributed in various places in the area to be measured , and with a certain degree of the ability of the signal processing and the data network . Energy limit of the sensor node is the bottleneck of the entire wireless sensor network design , which directly determines the working life of the network . Low power sensor networks at home and abroad are mainly concentrated in the routing protocol , MAC (Medium Access Control) protocol, transport protocol , and even in the operating system , it was also a low-power design . In this thesis, different modulation techniques impact on the energy consumption of sensor nodes . Sensor nodes , the energy consumption in the RF communication module , most of the energy consumption of the RF front-end module is consumed in the sending and receiving periods and therefore choose a low-power modem technology is of great significance to the development of sensor network applications . The time shift the non-orthogonal multiple modulation techniques (Time Shift Non-orthogonal Multi-carrier Technology, TS-NMT) is a new modulation technology, compared with other conventional modulation techniques , it has the advantages of low energy transmission units of the bit of data consumes this modulation technique is applied to the sensor nodes will be able to greatly reduce the consumption of energy , which will facilitate large-scale application of the sensor network . Modulation technique is now widely used in wireless sensor networks OQPSK (Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying), this paper will use simulation software discussion of the energy consumption of the TS-NMT OQPSK two different modulation techniques used in wireless sensor networks . Finally, the article gives the experimental results prove the feasibility of wireless sensor networks , the use of the TS-NMT modulation technique , and justify the use of the TS-NMT with OQPSK compared to send per-bit data consumes energy advantage .
