Abstract

VG Veslago former Soviet scientists published an article in 1968 states: permittivity and permeability are negative media will have unusual electromagnetic properties. University of California, San Diego, DR Smith, who according to the British physicist JB Pendry of Imperial College's findings, first constructed in 2000 permittivity and permeability are simultaneously negative artificial media. These theoretical and experimental research results prove that left-handed materials (permittivity and permeability are simultaneously negative) can be produced, and in radar technology, near-field optics and other fields has important broad application prospects, so more and more The researchers conducted the physical properties of left-handed materials, laboratory preparation and numerical simulation studies. In this thesis, through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and software simulation, focus on the left-handed materials related properties and applications. The study includes left-handed materials for non-split-field dispersion FDTD method, the ball left-handed materials coated with metal ball left-handed materials RCS, left-handed materials coated metal balls near-field characterization and anisotropic left-handed materials The near-field characteristics of four parts. The thesis work involves the following aspects: 1. Chapter 2 presents no split-field FDTD iteration infield unified approach with absorbing layer by changing the calculation of the coefficient achieved within the field of the internal field calculation with UPML absorbing layer calculation unified, and then through a simple storage field components, combined with the shift operator method enables the program can analyze isotropic left-handed materials, but also make the program simple and efficient. 2 Chapter 3 combined Drude dispersion model, the preparation of three-dimensional non-split-field dispersion FDTD Matlab procedures. LHM calculated dielectric sphere coated with metal ball after a left-handed materials RCS and discussed changes effective medium coating parameters on the target radar cross section of an object. 3 Chapter 4 discusses the changes in metal balls coated medium parameters and dielectric thickness, metal balls and change the distance between the point source of radiation, draw near-field intensity distribution, it is intuitive to give left-handed materials in radar technology role. 4 Chapter 5 discusses the different symbols of permittivity and permeability tensor combination of media properties, simulation of pulsed beam irradiation anisotropic left-handed materials near-field characteristics, it is intuitive to demonstrate anisotropic left-handed materials absorbing properties.
