Abstract


With the rapid development of economic globalization, economic communication among countries has become more and more frequent, especially the increasing energy trade. Energy resources, such as coal, oil and natural gas, are decreasing sharply. While mining industry depending on our country rich mineral resources are developing rapidly in domestic economy volume, with more and more competition for energy resources among countries, foreign trade of energy resources between Mongolia and other countries is being developed rapidly, leading to the significantly growing proportion of coal and oil exports accounting for the total exports. Therefore, Mongolian governments have formulated some policies to attract foreign investments and several plans about rational exploitation to promote the development of the large strategy mining area of coal and oil.Consequently, world’s economic powers are trying to invest on and exploit the energy resource in Mongolia, resulting in the ongoing cooperative relationship between Mongolia and those countries. However, domestic mining sector is emerging industry which has developed for only a few years, lacking the sophisticated infrastructure as well as a perfect and stable policy system. As a result, Mongolia can only export some raw materials to the world mainly. It’s means that the social economy of Mongolia depends on the fluctuation of mineral resource price in the world market, directly and largely.Among these countries that are interested in the trade relationship with Mongolia, The People’s Republic of China, which owns the longest frontier lines with Mongolia, is making quite a lot investment in Mongolian and actively participates in the international competition for energy development in Mongolia. The People’s Republic of China is the largest trade business partner and the largest investor of Mongolia. The economies of Mongolia and China are highly complementary and the development of economic and trade cooperation between two countries are promising.This dissertation mainly focuses on the level of economical development, structure of economy and trades in Mongolia, particular the reasons, current situation of mining exploration and its influence of the trade relationship with other countries. The mutual cooperation and its location of Mongolia and China in the economic and commercial fields are also discussed. At last, this essay offers some measures and recommendations.This dissertation consists of 6 chapters, the background, significance, purpose of the research are introduced in the 1st chapter. The economic and commercial development, structure, policy of Mongolia in recent years is presented in the 2nd chapter. In the 3rd chapter, cooperation in the energy resource fields of Mongolia, position of mining cooperation within the framework of the mining sector cooperation between of Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China, and future trends are researched. In the 4th chapter, the research work focuses on the necessity of expending the cooperation between the two countries and the advantages of the People’s Republic of China. In the 5th chapter, we talk about some problems which may restrict the cooperative activities between two countries. In the 6th chapter, it offers some essential measures and recommendations for strengthening the cooperative activities in the energy resource field.
