Article attempts to from mainstream American media impression formation factors in China and in the development of china-us relations in the important role of the, to study Chinese for American national image creation. This paper selected three representative and widely influential American newspapers and magazines in certain period of time reporting on China as the research object, analysis of the us mainstream media's impression of China and change, what factors led to the formation and development of the us mainstream media impression on China, the us mainstream media is analyzed from four aspects to China the impression formation factors (cultural differences, the international situation changes, the national behavior, interaction between countries), and finally the author through the analysis of the way of American mainstream media reports on China and negative effect, this paper expounds the American media impression on China's important role in the relations between the two countries, and China's response to the mainstream media report, the recommendations to mold its national image: rational objective view of the American mainstream media reports on China, efforts to create goodwill responsible image.
