A good set of beam energy and polarization analysis method we design the optical system will play a very good role in guiding . In the optical system , the different polarization state of the method of calculation of the energy of the beam is different. As the arbitrary direction in the plane of vibration exist vibration energy and the polarization changes in the propagation of polarized light and partially polarized light is more complex, in certain circumstances , for example when a large numerical aperture imaging , the polarization state of the light beam also impact image quality. With ray tracing method , this article on the different states of polarization beam energy and polarization analysis method to do a more systematic study . The innovation of this paper is that , for non- polarized light and partially polarized light , first proposed a sampling line polarized light to describe completely polarized energy and polarization state , the method has a good intuitive higher accuracy, but a large amount of calculation . In order to reduce the amount of calculation , this paper presents a light elliptic method , this method introduces the light oval to describe non - totally polarized energy and polarization , and light ellipse superimposed way to analyze the energy transfer of the light beam in the optical system and the polarization state changes . The articles selected different optical system , for example, the application of these two analytical methods , last discussed the non- polarized light is incident energy , the polarization state of change , as well as a large numerical aperture , high image quality and large numerical aperture aplanatic lens system bring polarization effect . The results showed that a large numerical aperture so that the relative increase of the intensity of TM polarized light in the imaging beam , to affect imaging contrast ; improve the refractive index of the medium of the image side , e.g. refractive index of the medium, the image side to the oil , would improve the problem of such polarization effects .
