The Politics was stable and the economy was thriving in Tang Dynasty. Rulers pursued opening policies, constantly absorbing the culture elsewhere. All national music culture merged together from Wei to Tang. Based on these, music art comprehensively developed to a peak with the main sign dance music. The court music made profound influence to the future generations in Tang Dynasty.Zheng as an ancient and traditional ethnic Musical Instruments got rapid development under the background of the prosperity of the palace music in Tang Dynasty. Each class of people praised highly zheng as accompaniment instrument which was used in court music. It manifested itself in the following respects:first, the number of Zheng song increased greatly, which was about the classical music in the former generation, the creating new ones in Tang Dynasty and zheng music from neighboring countries and regions; second, zheng spreaded more frequently than the previous generation, Zheng played an important role in the process of music art spread from the palace noble to the poor and from domestic to neighboring countries; third, The number of people playing Zheng increase greatly, Zheng people distributed widelyer, there were numerous zheng people in Yangzhou, Hangzhou, Jiangzhou, Yunzhou, Hezhou, liuzhou, Songzhou except of Changan and Luoyang, there were a large number of Zheng people, such as XueQiongqiong, LiQingqing, CuiQI, LiCongzhou, YuanZhen, GuoShi, BaiJuyi, etc. In addition, Zheng achieved considerable progress and development in making materials, shape, string number, decoration, playing skills and play mode in Tang Dynasty, which influenced the Zheng art culture later greatly.This thesis use the researching methods of history, archaeology, statistics, geography, sociology to research the development of Tang Zheng from the angle of historical geography, which hope that it could provide beneficial reference for the heritage of current Zheng art.
