Abstract


Current English teaching in China has gained rapid development . Along with this rapid development, and the English textbooks experiencing constantly evolving to adapt to the changing teaching environment . At the same time , the new curriculum reform \This new deal makes the whole textbook market to become active again. Teachers and students thereby gaining a broader space to select materials to promote English language teaching and learning . It also makes the textbook evaluation becomes particularly important . Evaluation of teaching materials will undoubtedly help them to better understand them in the hands of the textbooks will benefit teachers and students make better use of teaching materials , so as to promote the teacher teaching and students' learning . \Is the set of the \According to the study of the English curriculum standards (experimental version) (2001 ) , as well as textbook evaluation theory , the author proposed a set of specific evaluation criteria of the junior high school English textbooks . Based on this , this two sets of materials for the comparison and evaluation . In comparison with the evaluation process , we more clearly understand the advantages and disadvantages of each of the two sets of textbooks . The research results show that the two sets of English textbooks teaching objectives and the English curriculum standards (experimental version ) ( 2001 ) , the overall objective of the design is closely integrated . In addition, both the design of the materials , teaching materials written in textbooks used in teaching methods , textbooks users are generally recognized . But some deficiencies in the two sets of textbooks is also studying to be found . For example, the two sets of textbooks supporting material never can be fully utilized . The textbooks utilization being questioned. In addition , the new target English Student Book Oxford English Student Book lack of a syntax reference for the whole of the book . The new target English per unit for the interpretation of the syntax is not detailed enough. These are the teaching materials for the subsequent development and revision reference reference .
