Abstract

Political speech is subject to a lot of people are concerned about a type of speech, speakers and more commentary from the political point of view the major events at home and abroad with the real problem. Its main purpose is to promote their political views and position, aroused the enthusiasm of the audience, to win the support of the audience. Political speech campaign speech, his inaugural speech, the government work report, a conference debate, diplomatic speech. Western political discourse, especially presidential candidate in the presidential campaign released a series of speeches are particularly vulnerable to eye-catching. The forty-fourth President of the United States Barack Obama is known as a dark horse in U.S. politics, the rise of all its called a genius and many of the classic speech-related. With the national political, economic and cultural exchanges have become closer, the importance of political speech translation has become more prominent. Halliday Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) from the date of birth is widely used in various fields in recent years, its applicability in the field of translation studies has drawn increasing attention of scholars at home and abroad. Halliday believes that the concept of human language function, interpersonal function and textual function constitute the three major functions of the human language. Discourse analysis of three major feature helps translators to better understand the deep-seated meaning of the discourse, a better grasp of the author's intention of writing and writing style. On the basis of full understanding of the original, the translator can be based on the actual need to select meet the language habits of the target language to reflect the three major functions of the original, and to maximize the reach of the three major functions between the original and the translation on . In view of this, this article will use the three Metafunction of Halliday theory to analyze political speech discourse and its translation, which summed up some of the principles and methods of political speech Text Translation, political speeches Text Translation Theory and Practice useful to explore. This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces the background of this study, the paper's significance, approach to the study, the selected object of study, as well as the basic organizational framework. The second chapter is the literature review section, scholars concerned about political speech translation of the sort, and pointed out its shortcomings, but also sort out in detail the situation of domestic and foreign scholars systemic functional grammar is applied to the study of translation. The third chapter mainly introduces the theoretical basis of this study, describes the development of systemic functional grammar and profile, with detailed descriptions of the three major functions of the theory, in which the concept of function is mainly related to the transitivity system, interpersonal function mainly discusses the tone, modal and evaluation theory, discourse function overview of the thematic structure and thematic progression mode, these methods and theory to guide our study of political speech analysis and translation. The fourth chapter discusses the definitions, language and structural features of the English political speech (EPS), and then explores the main features of depends corpus that Obama's political speeches. These discussions will help behind the theoretical basis of the research-based text analysis. Chapter the main part of the paper, around three major functions on this issue in the translation of political discourse, combined with systemic functional grammar theory, analysis of three representative Obama's speech discourse, his inaugural speech, victory speech, keynote speaker, and on this basis to further explore its translation.
