Abstract


The dispute between China and Japan caused over the demarcation of the oil fields in the East Asia Sea currently has become a hot issue. Although two countries have held almost a dozen rounds of negotiations and have reached limited degrees of compromise. But, the dispute still remains largely unsettled for various reasons.The author has discovered that, analysis and countermeasures for this dispute whether it be Realism or Neo-liberal institutionalism chalked with blind spots and one-sidedness, their policy suggestions can’t even be put into practice after observing the existing research material and policy options. In addition, there are countless experts, think tanks and scholars that want to resolve this problem through international law both in China and Japan, and their research achievements also can be said as innumerable. However, embarrassed enough is that all kinds of resolving dispute through international lawsuit countermeasures have never been accepted by Sino-Japan high level leaders and decision-makers of government.Therefore, in this paper, the author takes a new approach and intends to analyze all phenomenon, each other’s claims and diplomatic interaction of surrounding the dispute between China and Japan through common knowledge (culture), system structure, and national identity, logic of reciprocity of Wendt’s constructivism in the paper.The author try to prove that the reason of the Chinese-Japanese East Asia Sea oil field dispute has not been resolved yet is that when the two nations have to handle the sensitive issues of their relationship they always encounter two problems. The first is never a positive "common knowledge" between China and Japan. The second is that there exist long-lasting enmity that each hold of the other. and the "enemy image "continues to deepen. The author also will propose appropriate countermeasures from the constructivism for dealing with this crux of the problem.
