Abstract


Molecular recognition is one of the three basic functions of supramolecular systems, and attracts the most attention because of its applications. in biological, environmental, and pharmaceutical chemistry as well as catalysis. Although the first anion receptor had been reported in 1968. compared to cation recognition, the development of anion recognition is relatively difficult which resulting from the properties of anions.Bipyridine groups can complexe with heavy metals, such as ruthenium (Ru), iridium (Ir), osmium (Os), and rhenium (Re) and form the complexation to provide a strong fluorescence signal. The large conjugation systems also tend to be a good chromophore. The framework of the bipyridine groups is also used to build a specific provision of the corresponding rigidity and matching structure. Thus, the bipyridine groups are widely used in the design and synthesis of anion receptors.Amide presents a good hydrogen-bond donoting capability, and can form a good complexation with anions. Pincer-like anion receptor, with the multiple bonding sites, has a more stable complex with anions compared to the open-chain-type anion receptors, and be widely used in the design and synthesis of anion receptors.In this thesis, we have synthesized a new macrocyclic compound based on bipyridyl groups and studied its anion recognition properties. The results showed that the macrocyclic compound we synthesized had a selective response to the bromide in UV-vis titration and was promising in bromide optical sensing. The assembly properties of macrocyclic compound with the imidazolium thread were also investigated. The results showed that macrocyclic compound had a good matching structure with imidazolium thread and formed a pseudo-rotaxane system using anions as templates. The results also demonstrated that the as-prepared macrocyclic compound was a potential precursor to form rotaxane or catenane with imidazolium thread containing stoppers.Another two new Pincer-like anion receptors were also synthesized and characterized, respectively. The preliminary study of its anion recognition properties were performed by UV-vis titrations.
