Abstract


In emerging market countries , because the relevant laws and regulations and corporate governance structure is not perfect, as the cornerstone of the capital market damage the interests of small investors relatively common phenomenon , the problems associated with it has become bound of theory and practice hot spots. With the \Most previous studies focused on the advance , the main research legal arrangements for the protection of small investors . This drawing shows, such as the payment of ginger ( 2007,2008 ) research perspective , the perspective of ex post evaluation , constructed a comprehensive set of indicators to principal component analysis method to calculate the composite index score as a measure of protection for small and medium investors , listed as tested an important part of corporate ownership structure institutional investors holding the impact on small and medium investor protection . This paper selected in 2007-2009 company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the normal sample of studies have found that institutional investors holding can indeed an objective to promote the protection of small investors , and with the increased stake , this effect the stronger the effect . Meanwhile , institutional investors will also be listed on the effectiveness of the play and the company's actual control of listed companies in the development of local markets extent, the actual control of listed companies will state the nature of institutional investors in the objective generating protective effect of small investors inhibition, while the market process in areas of high positive role of institutional investors can play better .
