On the current wireless communication, the antennas are requested to having the features of reconfiguration, miniaturization, and higher integration. In this thesis, the miniaturized micro-strip reconfigurable antenna and the co-designed antenna/filter are presented. The simulated and measured results are given. The following are the main contents of the thesis.First, the reconfigurable antenna and antenna numerical analysis methods were introduced.Second, a miniaturized micro-strip frequency reconfigurable antenna which is controlled by two PIN diode switches is proposed. The structure of antenna is simple and compact. When the switches is turned on, the antenna can operate at 5.34GHz, and has a bandwidth of over 70% and the reflection of less than -20dB. When the switches is turned off, the antenna can operate at 2.4GHz, and has a bandwidth of 2.01% and the reflection of less than -12dB. The antenna maintains the advantages of a large slot antenna and achieves a broadband performance. When the antenna operates at 2.4GHz, the dimension of the antenna can be reduced to 50%.At last, a co-designed antenna-filter is presented. A micro-strip patch antenna is layered on the top of a low-pass filter and they share the same ground plane. A via hole is implemented to connect the antenna and filter. The interfaces impedance is optimized to improve the performance of antenna-filter, without restricting to 50 ohm. The measured center frequency is 2.4GHz, and the bandwidth at this frequency is 8%.The measured and simulated results show that the co-design strategy can be used to reduce the size, improve the bandwidth and increase the radiation gain.
