As the basically material to humans survival, Soil played an irreplaceable role in human and social development. However, with the rapid development of industry, a lot of dangerous heavy metal into the soil and changed the soil’s structure and function, declined soil quality and endanger the health of human beings finally. Therefore, there have an important theoretical and practical significance to research the heavy metal pollution condition and distribution rule in soil and the soil quality evaluation.Currently, there have hardly any study maily on soil heavy metal and soil quality assessment in longdong loess tableland area. Based on the domestic and abroad research achievements, this paper take Qingyang city as the target area, by measure the contents of copper, nickel, cadmium, lead, chromium and zinc in soils thougn experiment analysis method in oilfield of MaLing, XiFeng and HuaQing in LongDong tableland area, Gansu province. And take the "Environmental quality standards for soil"(GB 15618-1995) as the evaluation standard, using single factor pollution index method and nemerow pollution index method to assessment the soil quality quantificational. The aim is provide the basis and reference on soil quality protect, eliminate metal pollution, guide local industrial development and contamination disposal, soil function classification and evaluation of soil utilization and policies management, etc.The main results of this paper show as following.1) The main style of soil in study area is loess which pH> 8, is partial alkaline. Soil bulk density is in the range of 1.47-1.52 g/cm3, specific gravity between2.56g/cm3 and 2.6 g/cm3. Porosity are approximately 51 percent, water content is about 11%. In research area, the proportion of grit is in the range of 52-60%, powder is 32% between and 40% and physical clay is mostly 6%-8%.2) The order of heavy metal contents in the studied area is Zn>Cr>Pb>Ni>Cu>Cd, in which the value of zinc is between 77.49 mg/kg and 166.64 mg/kg and its mean value is 111.64 mg/kg, it is the highest in 6 kind of metals. The contents of lead and chromium are all in the range of 50-90mg/kg. The mean value of nickel is 27.72mg/kg and copper is 22.51mg/kg. The content of cadmium is the lowest in the six metals which value is between 1.64mg/kg and 3.38mg/kg. The order of heavy metal contents of the soil in the study area is HuaQing<MaLing<XiFeng in general.3) The evaluation result by single factor method. in the range of 0-100cm depth of soil in three oilfield, copper, nickel, lead chromium and zinc are all belong to cleanness, but cadmium are exceed the normal value badly, soil pollution is very serious.4) According to the appraisal result of nemrow pollution index method. There are all exceed the normal value of cadmium in three areas, of which HuaQing is moderate pollution and MaLing and XiFeng belong to severe pollution. The others five heavy metal are not exceeding the normal value and the soil quality is cleaning.5) According to the correlation analysis, we found that in LongDong area there has positive correlation of 6 heavy metals in soil, that is to say the heavy metal content in the soil has a certain relationship each other.
