Objective:This experiment aims at observing the curative effect of treating chronic eczema by anti-itch decoction, and discussing the effectiveness of this decoction, especially in relieving the intching sympton.Methods:65 patients were randomly divided into study group and control group:33 cases of study group using TCM decoction,100ml per day, three times per day; 32 cases of the control group taking Certirizine Hydrochloride tablets,10mg per day, once per day. Danpifen paste for both groups external used, twice per day. Weekly record the changing of patients’self-conscious and skin lesions in both groups. Evaluating the curative effect after 4-week therapy.Results:31 cases patients of the study group completed the 4-week trial, including 8 cases(25.8%)cured,17 cases (54.8%)remarkably effective,5 cases (16.1%) effective. 1 case (3.2%)ineffective, the total effective rate was 96.8%. While in the control group,31 cases patients completed the test,2 cases(6.4%) cured,9 (29.0%) remarkably effective,15(48.4%) effctive,5 (16.1%) ineffcective, the total effective rate was 83.9%. The difference of effective rate between two groups were statistically significant, Z=-3.601, P=0.000,P<0.05.Conclusion:Taking anti-itch decoction has more advanced curative effect and extends recrudescence than taking Certirizine Hydrochloride tablets in treating chronic eczema.
