Pro-social behavior at home and abroad research has gone through several decades. Many scholars not only had done some research on its concepts、theories、factors and other issues, but also made a lot of research results. Pro-social behavior generally refers to all the expectations of the community and others, groups or socially beneficial behavior, including helping, sharing, cooperation, humility, and other social behavior. In recent years, with the development and improvement of moral education, cultivation of pro-social behavior has become an important part of Mental Health. Pro-social behavior is an important aspect of individual social development. Not only it conducive to individual self-development, but also conducive to maintaining and building good social order. Social adaptation, also known as social adaptable ability, is an individual in the interaction with the existing environment in balance with the external environment in the process. Secondary stage is not only an important stages of the development of individual socialization of young people, but also is an important transition period they changing social person into a natural person. Therefore, the cultivation of pro-social behavior has an important influence on middle school students meeting the complex social environment. And good social adjustment also plays a vital role on the physical and psychological harmonious development of the middle school students. In the past on pro-social behavior and social adaptation have made a lot of research results, but the relationship between the two studies are few, therefore, this study attempts to explore the relationship between pro-social behavior and social adaptive, expecting to provide theoretical basis cultivating pro-social behavior and social adaptation to students.This study used questionnaires and selected 620 students as the subjects from the urban and rural middle schools, and investigated them from the tendency to pro-social behavior and social adaptation. Research tool for the study are "pro-social behavior of middle school students tend to Scale" (PTM), and "School social adaptation Scale" (SAS-SSS). By exploring the relationship between the two, the conclusions as follows:1. Students tend to pro-social behavior on the female gender was significantly higher than boys; in grade aspect, high school students are to be significantly higher than junior high school, the general trend of pro-social behavior tendencies of middle school students is upward trend from first grade to high first-year, after the development of relatively stable; in the family sources, secondary school students in rural areas are to be significantly higher than the city’s middle school students; the child or not, the non-only children to be significantly higher than one child.2. Secondary school students on social adaptation in the male gender were significantly higher than girls; in grade aspect, high school students are to be significantly higher than junior high school, the general social adaptation of middle school students is upward trend from first grade to high first-year, followed by the development of relatively stable. However, the Senior Grade is a slight drop; in the family sources, the city’s students is higher than that of secondary school students in rural areas; the child or not, the non-only children to be significantly higher than one child.3. Students tend to pro-social behavior and social adaptation was significantly positively correlated, and the various dimensions of social adaptation was also significantly correlated.4. Social adaptation has a positive effect on the pro-social behavior tendencies.
