Abstract


Nowadays, the development of Visual Communication design is to be interesting, humanization that breakthrough two dimension to Multi-dimensional media. To support the expression of visual communication design, material evolution is huge. From traditional paper surface move on to pro-environment material, now media of electricity and light, the research and application of material become an emphasis of visual communication design.As a designer, application of modern material is a breakthrough point to against this sharp market competition. However, research and application of material should be a whole set of process, without integrated planning we could not get success in markets. Therefore, the solution is to understand systematically about material application and set up global thinking mode. Firstly in this thesis, I suggest to build“Material Application Testing System”(MATS) which including three parts, the relationship between material and function, the relationship between material and environment, the relationship between material and user. MATS derive as follow: (?) Next, I will analyze some successful cases to make an exposition about how MATS influence on design practice and raise design standards.In conclusion, There would be a considerable raise space of modern material research and market demand.So to built up a integrate MATS by setting research object and providing standard for engineers and designers is necessary to enhance quality of products.
