Abstract


With the official start of the China - ASEAN Free Trade Area , trade between ASEAN and China will account for 13 percent of world trade . How China will respond better to the challenges and opportunities brought about by the completion of the China - ASEAN Free Trade Area , and the dominance of long-term in the trade area ? The export of ASEAN countries , China also has the potential for development ? Since the 20 world and 60 years , Tinbergen gravity model introduced in trade flows , trade gravity model has become an important tool for analysis of bilateral trade flows . Domestic and foreign scholars amendment to the trade gravity model is mainly manifested in two aspects of the theoretical and empirical research . Although the trade gravity model lacks solid theoretical foundation , but still is an effective research tool . Large number of empirical studies have shown that the trade gravity model can indeed provide a reasonable explanation of bilateral trade flows , and have strong explanatory power . This article will use the panel data of 1990-2009 export trade flows to ASEAN countries and China - ASEAN bilateral trade flows inquiry to establish , on the basis of the original trade gravity model , the more fit China - ASEAN free trade trade models, to identify the new context of China - ASEAN bilateral trade factors , put forward constructive policy recommendations .
