Abstract

It is very important for industrial site to be kept under surveillance in power plants, oil fields and chemical industries. The traditional monitoring techniques always employ normal lens which are limited in wide scene. It is often required multiple cameras that the wiring is cumbersome and the system is inflexible. But the omni-directional vision could acquire the information of the entire sphere domain which is significance for monitoring. Fisheye lens, one of the most efficient techniques of omni-directional vision, has a capability of a field angle of more than 185°. Compared to the other omni-directional vision systems, the fisheye lens has advantages of compact construction, which adapts to the outdoor environment.A lot of researches have been done by the domestic and foreign scholars on the targets tracking in the state of under surveillance. Particle filter is one of the most popular tracking algorithms which is widely used and researches. For different applications, expansion algorithms based on particle filter are different. Most of the researches reflect that particle filter is suitable for the non-gauss and non-linear issues and it is the typical algorithm of the non-deterministic methods. Because of the bright light and the overlap between the targets and leaves, a method based on particle filter is proposed to resolve the multiple targets tracking during the mobile monitoring at outdoor, which employs template matching as the prior probability distribution. The tracking results proved that our algorithm could accurately track the targets in outdoor environment at the end of this paper. In this paper, we build a basic platform of mobile surveillance system with an automatic guided vehicle, an omni-directional vision and an image capture card. With this platform, an application has been developed which could realize surveillance functions, such as monitoring in time, video saving and calls, etc. The experimental results show that the mobile surveillance system could perform well.
