Embedded audio equipment has become a hot spot in today’s human life. From the individual consumer’s products like MP3, MP4, music mobile phones to the professional needs such as: broadcasting system in department stores, hotels, airports or other large occasions. Embedded audio devices are playing an important role.Embedded broadcast audio equipment is developing toward to the direction that more professional in function; operating more humane; could connect to network and is still low power consumption with high performance-price ratio. In this paper, this design has mainly applied ARM9 processor S3C2440 and FPGA XC3S500E-4PQ208C to build the hardware circuit of the system, and develop software program based on embeded Linux operating system. Finally achieved these goals: the device output quality could meet professional standards; could support multiple audio output interfaces; has strong input and output functions; with high integration and good mobility. This paper has discussed the following content:1 Hardware design of the audio equipment. The circuit schematics work includes: high performance audio processing module that supplies AES3 output, analog audio output by using CS8420, CS4398; matrix keyboard and audio correlation coefficient calculation accompllished by using FPGA; peripheral interface circuit design of ARM9 and FPGA such as power supply, serial port, USB, NIC, hard disk, LCD display, etc;2 Transplant embedded Linux operating system to the hardware platform to build a development environment and design device drivers like IIS audio driver, LCD display device driver, etc;3 Transplant open source RTP library jrtplib to the platform and accomplish the design of sending and receiving real-time audio data stream module by using this rtp libary.
