Abstract


In these years, with the rapid development of electronics and communication technology, especially, the development and prevalent of mobile internet technology, growing requirement of high-performance, multi-function and low-power consumption mobile terminals has being raised. However, more issues also been brought out in the progression of function increase, performance enhance and volume miniaturize of the mobile terminals. For instance, circuit design scale and complexity are continually rising. The demand of power management and control is more critical. The density of PCB design is more and more large. Also, the high speed/density of PCB has resulted in more serious signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility problems. These issues significantly constraint the research and development cycle, as well as the quality, of the mobile terminal products. Thus, more attention on these issues has being paid by researchers.This dissertation developed a multi-functional, low-power and various scenario applicable mobile computing terminal, on the basis of Intel Menlow platform. Meanwhile, some key technologies targeting at the issues of development were also discussed. The main contributions of this dissertation are summarized as follows:1)The requirement of mobile computing terminal was analyzed, and the hardware system design framework which based on the requirement analysis was achieved.2)The schematic design of mobile computing terminal was completed, with the combination of the high-speed circuit design criteria.3)The design of power generator and power management module was achieved, on the basis of the power-rail analysis of mobile computing terminal4)The PCB was implemented following the principles of high-speed and high-density PCB design. In addition, the key problem and solution during the PCB design procedure was also investigated. 5)After the procedure of design, production and SMT, the hardware aspect of mobile computing terminal motherboard was debugged. Also, the functional aspect was evaluated.The top-to-down design approach was used in this dissertation, and the hardware of our mobile computing terminal was successfully achieved. Finally, the test and evaluation results show that our terminal has fulfilled design requirement.
