At present, tourist area planning is a hot topic in planning field. Every type of tourist area is under construction in the process of development of regional tourist circle. There is a special tourist area named Linear and Non-core Tourist Area which takes a special and important position. Studies about this tourist area will be of momentous current significance.First, this study puts forward the background, the purpose and the structure of the study and describes the basic concept about Linear and Non-core Tourist Area. Then, this study puts forward some emphasis points of Linear and Non-core Tourist Area Planning such as particularity, cultural property, balanced state, pragmaticality based on the comparative analysis about three cases: master plan of Lijiang landscape and famous scenery, the practice of RDS (Region, Destination, Site) in Miao Fengshan, Beijing, the plan of Chao Yanggou scenic zone in Wuan, Hebei province.Second, this study sums up some main points about Orientation Studies, Project Plan, Planning and Design of Linear and Non-core Tourist Area based on foregoing paragraphs and the planning of Shili hills Poxi River Tourist Area. This study puts forward significance, content, method about Orientation, analyses the breakthrough point, train of thought, principle of Project Plan, expounds the project topic plan, and puts forward some thinking and methods about planning in arrangement of ideas, space control and space development, protection and using of ecological environment.At last, this study puts forward significance, principle and methods about how to make the connection of plan implementation and plan establishment more effective, and sums up three factors about how to ensure the plan implementation of Linear and Non-core Tourist Area: establishing perfect system of plan administration, formulating marketing strategy of tourist products, and advocating public participation of different types of culture.
