Abstract

With the development of the network and a wide range of applications, the dependence on the network of society is gradually increasing. Network security events and network security crime have restricted the economic development of China. On this context, the birth of the intrusion detection system(IDS) happened. Combining the correlation analysis with traditional expert systems, is an development of intrusion detection technology. It puts forward a research on temporal multi-layer and multi-dimensional alert correlation for expert system, to solve the problem that there are high false alarm rate and missed alarm rate existing in IDS. It presents abstraction modeling for knowledge base, match rules exclusive rules, and reasoning arithmetic. The system has been applied in real condition, and the results of experiments show that the system can effectively advance the performance of correlation analysis, and can easily extend. This method is modeling for hierarchical knowledge base in order to improve performance, adding asset allocation and vulnerability information analysis module, removing information not needed to reduce overhead, and pruning operation to reduce redundant overhead. Add time stream analysis mechanism based on time window to meet the real-time requirements. The results of experiments show that the system can effectively advance the performance of correlation analysis, and can easily extend. The advantages are procedures and high data independence, good data structure, abstract level, easy expansion, easy to use and low redundancy.
