Abstract


Conventional industrial estate around port is the important historic city site, it concentrated the formation and development of human civilization throughout the industry; its decline was the inevitable result of humanity from the industrial society into the post-industrial society; similarly, its update is also the internal needs of urban development and the inevitable trend of the history development. The update of conventional industrial estate around port relations between the cities’s social, economic, cultural, to environmental, and other aspects, so we should focus on the update of conventional industrial estate around port from the perspective of strategic.In this paper, several well-known update cases were analyzed, which of conventional industrial estate around port. The relevant laws to update were summed up, which combine with the sustainable development and its integration theory, both of which the sustainable updating model of conventional industrial estate around port derived from. And then the writer had a brief on the update model from four aspects as the values, the specific manner, the cooperation means of Government and the developers and the evaluation criteria of the update. The integration of the sustainable development theory and the modern urban design theory is concentrated on in order to propose the concept and principles of sustainable update of conventional industrial estate around port, and then analyze the content of external space update of conventional industrial estate around port with the modern ways of urban design, which concluding the integration of urban structure, the improvement of transportation system, landscape and visual system, the integration of places system and construction entities controlling. Study the example of Dalian is to further elaborate on the sustainable updating strategy of the external space in conventional industrial estate around port, in order to examine the application of the theory in conventional industrial estate around port of the port city around Bohai, This is also the starting point and end result of the subject.
