Abstract

Object: To investigate the relationship between chromosome abnormality and male infertility.Method: Chromosome testing were performed in 1157 patients with male infertility who came to our testing center of special disease of Jilin Province for examination during may 1st 2004 and may 2008, Abnormal chromosomal karyotypes and clinical Phenotypes were analyzed .serum sexual hormone were also tested in some patients.Results:1、Comparison of detection rate of chromosome abnormality Among 1157 cases, there were 113 cases with abnormal karyotypes (10.2%). in the group of azoospermia, The chromosome aberrance ratio is 22.3% (84/395). In the group of oligo-, astheno-, terato-spermia, the ratio is 3.8% (29/762). there was significant difference between two groups.2、analysis of each type of Abnormal karyotype (1) Sex chromosomal abnormalityThe karyotype of 47, XXY was 68, accounting for 60.2%, among them, there were 53 cases with azoospermia, 11 cases with oligo-asthenospermia. mos- type 4, accounting for 3.5%.Y structural chromosomal abnormality 5, account- g for 4.4%.(2) Autosome abnormalityThere were 8 cases with autosomal balanced translocation present with primary infertility, 4cases with azoospermia, 4 with oligoasthenospermia .there were 3 of robertsonian translocation, which were rare in clinic. There were 3 cases with Chromosomal pericentric inversion, and the others was 1.(3) Chromosomal polymorphismWe also found out 21 cases of chromosomal polymorphism, respectively 13 of Sex Chromosome polymorphism of which 11 were azoospermic, 2 were oligoasthenospermic.and 8 of autosomal polymorphism of which 5 were azoos- permic, 3 were oligoasthenospermic.3、Correlation factor analysis of klinefelter syndrome in the group of azoospermia .We also compared serum reproductive hormone level of patients of klinefelter syndrome with azoospermic patients with nomal karyotype and normal fertile men. we found that the concentration of serum FSH, LH was higher, and T level was less than the other groups, there were significant differences between each other (p<0.05). Conclusions:1、The prevalence of chromosome abnormality is higher in male infertility than in normal population.so in clinic working, we should to ask azoospermat- ism for chromosomal testing.2、Klinefelter syndrome is the most common chromosome abnormality leading to azoospermia . it has impact on the level of serum sex hormone. We could detect the Klinefelter syndrome in the early stages of clinical with the important indicatrix that it’s FSH and LH significantly higher and T were significantly reduced.3、The patients with azoospermatism and andro-;gon-;gono-;sperm could detect chromosomal polymorphism , so for man with male infertility should pay attention to test chromosome
