Abstract


Egocentricity Index is an important indicator of the Rorschach comprehensive system,which in the beginning is taken as the index of narcissism and used to measure self-concern and self-esteem by Exner later.The foreign study on Egio is fruitful,however,they are controversial over the validity of its measurement.Past research focused on the validity of measuring explicit self-esteem and overt narcissism while paid little attention to the study of implicit self-esteem.This study was conducted in the local samples so as to investigate the relationship between Egoi and SES,as well as with the IAT.The subject samples include normal individuals,depressive patients and Manic patients.We also investigate the relationship between MOR and self-esteem and discuss the inbeing of FrrF and(2),and consider FrrFand(2) belong to perception response,inclining to measure cognize.The study has demonstrated that:1.There is no significant relations between Egoi and IAT,FrrF and IAT,(2) and IAT.2.In normal sample,Egoi,FrrF and(2)has negtively significant relations with SES;in depressive sample,FrrF has negtively significant relations with SES,the relations between Egoi and SES,also(2) and SES,are not significant;the relations are not significan in general sample.3.The SES value of subjects whose Egoi＞0.45 and FrrF=1,are not significantly different from those whose Egoi＜0.33.4.The subjects in normal sample are inclined to give much more(2) and R than those in depressive and Manic samples,give more FrrF than those in depressive sample.5.There is significant relations betweenMOR and SES;the relations between MOR and IAT is not significant.6.The subjects in depressive sample are inclined to give much more MOR than those in normal and Manic samples. Conclusions:1.Egoi,Fr/rF and(2) cannot reflect implicit self-esteem.2.The relation between Egoi and explicit self-esteem is uncertain.3.The result does not support Exner’s view about self-esteem.4.MOR cannot reflect implicit self-esteem but explicit self-esteem.
