Abstract


As the main body of the technical community in traditional society, artisan bears a heavy responsibility in technological invention, creation and transmission.he is the main force of technological development. By the influence of“important culture and look down on the technology”, traditional artisan situated lower in society,excluded from outside the bureaucracy. With the social transformation of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many artisans turn into officials, it is an striking phenomenon in Bureaucratic politics in China.It is particularly in the Jiangnan region during Ming and Qing Dynasties.They have a large number of wide channels and high-level.It improved the social status of artisans and played a positive role in promotion of technological transformation. Finally, This article Attempts to explore the intrinsic link between the artisans turn into officials, artisan’s status changes and technological progress, combined artisan’s status changes with the technological innovation in the construction industry and the military.
