The author also explored how tense is manifested via various structural expressions in Mandarin Chinese and how they are analyzable under the core feature of reference of tenses. The goal of this section is to seek how tenses,as a temporal structural builder of language,is interpreted via reference time in Mandarin Chinese.Speech time which tense can be demonstrated from always to be the definite reference-point of time information in Modern Standard Chinese sentences. Lastly, the author proposes a principle that the locations of Event Time and Reference Time will be the same side to Speech time on time axis. And 8 models of tense have been illustrated by functions and diagrams.
