Abstract


To keep up with the science and technology revolution of 21th centuries and the new trend of Numeral Earth development and research,countries and regions all over the world all attach great importance to the reform of high education, especially to the research upon specialities se-tup and the reform of high education curriculum system. The specialities set-up is an important process of talent education in universities. And it plays a decisive role in school scale, education quality, performance and diversity. Private colleges, as an emerging high education force, are still at developing stages. In other words, they are not market-oriented education in the real sense; also they cannot fully mater the way of speciality set-up under the circumstance of market economy. Therefore, it is of key importance to study speciality set-up if they aim to achieve a successful high education. The scientific set-up of speciality in private colleges not only can better serve for economy and society, but also for the colleges’survival and development.This essay aims to solve the problem of speciality set-up with the application of human resource theory and sustainable development theory.First, the researcher analyzes the operational mechanism in private colleges. This mechanism is based on diverse ownership and industrialized operation mode, which are quite different from public high education. Therefore, private colleges can not simulate public high education in speciality set-up. Then, the researcher collected the data by questionnaires to students and teachers from four private colleges. And through this data, the researcher found the problems in the speciality set-up in private colleges. Last, the researcher proposes the solutions to the problems in speciality set-up based on theoretical study and real surveys. The solutions are about speciality set-up principles, procedures and strategies. The strategies are as follows: premises in speciality set-up which includes education position and education target; the core of speciality set-up, which includes construction of curriculum system; basis of speciality set-up which includes construction of faculty; safeguard of speciality set-up which includes the teaching environment of speciality.
