With the deepening of economic globalization, enterprises are facing increasingly fierce market competition. The enterprises which are depending only on their internal limited resources have been unable to meet the needs of living and development. Faced with this new situation, in business management academia, researching on social capital has become a hot topic. From the social capital perspective, the key to improving business performance is to access to beneficial resources through external links. Therefore, An empirical study on issues that how the corporate social capital enhance performance through increasing resources which acquired from outside has high social value.In this paper, the study which combines enterprise resources with business performance from the perspective of social capital has significance value. It breakthrough the narrow perspective of studying enterprise through a single subject, and it combines management with economics and sociology to study on firm performance comprehensively from a system integration view, and thus provides a new way of thinking for the future study. In this paper, the intermediate variables of accessing to enterprise resources, construction and verification of the model among he social capital of the enterprise, degree of obtained enterprise resources and business performance all have an important significance to management theory and practice, as well as the mechanism of corporate social capital——access to resources——enterprise performance. Of course, if the model is correct or not, depends on the ultimate test of practice.on the basis of existing research literature social capital ,this paper give a clear concept of corporate social capital, which provides a possible social relations for creating and accessing to external resources in the network structure. Then it divides corporate social capital into three dimensions followed by the previous theoretical results: structural dimension, relational dimension and cognitive dimension. As the combination three dimensions of social capital enterprises with three kinds of resources acquired by enterprises, this paper puts forward a theory that corporate social can promote business performance through affecting the level of obtained resources, that is a model: corporate social capital——access to resources——firm performance. This study chooses old industrial bases in northeast China’s Jilin Province to be the study object, and research on the structure dimensions, relational dimension, and cognitive dimension of corporate social capital, and also their effect to the degree of access resources and business performance, then focus on the important role of acquiring enterprise resources to this relationship. Finally, this paper provides some simple ideas about enterprises’accumulation social capital for readers.This study used survey methods of data collection, select the companies in Jilin for the study. A total of 120 questionnaires were sent, and 105 valid questionnaires were recovered, so the rate of valid questionnaires was 88%. In data processing, we mainly use reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis and other methods to test the model assumptions. Through theoretical analysis and quantitative empirical research, this paper has reached the following conclusions:Firstly, the level of structure, relational and cognitive dimension of corporate social capital play a significant positive role in improving the extent of access to resources from outside. This shows that the social capital of enterprises does have an impact on access to resources, that is, the more social capital enterprises accumulate, the stronger ability of access to resources from outside enterprises have. The regression coefficient of empirical Analysis shows that the three dimensions of social capital of enterprises in Jilin Province: structure dimension, relational dimension and cognitive dimensions have different effects on enterprise’access to resources, and the relational dimension of social capital has an more influence on acquiring resources than the other two dimensions. Secondly, there is a significant positive correlation between the degree of access to enterprise resources and firm performance. Kinds of Enterprise resources acquired from the outside such as material resources, business resources and administrative resources have an impact on the business performance, that is, the higher level of resources enterprises obtain, the better business performance is. At the same time, from the statistical results we can clearly see that in the northeast Jilin, the extent of impact on performance of the three kinds resources are different: administrative resources play a greater role than material resources, and material resources’effect is slightly larger than the business resources, the effect of the latter two kinds resource are almost the same.Thirdly, without taking into account the variable of access to resources, the paper confirms that corporate three dimensions of social capital : structural dimension, relational dimension and cognitive dimension play a positive role in corporate performance by empirical analysis , namely, if the enterprises have good social capital stock, then the performance of enterprises will be better. Three Regression analyses are done between the three dimensions of social capital and business performance respectively, when observing the regression coefficient, we also found that the relational dimension of social capital has a higher degree of influence than structure dimension and cognitive dimension.Fourthly, when taking into account access to corporate resources as an intermediary variable, this paper has a study on corporate social capital, access to resources and business performance as well as the relationship among them, and the empirical results confirm the initial hypothesis of this article, that is, access to resources play a part intermediary role between social capital in the enterprise and business performance. This shows that the relationship among corporate social capital, access to corporate resources and business performance is not linear simply. Although social capital can help companies access to external resources to help enterprises to improve business performance, but this is only an aspect of function of corporate social capital, that is to say, access to corporate resources is not fully played the role of intermediary, but the role of part intermediary. Corporate social capital through other means will also be directly or indirectly affect the performance of enterprises.Inadequacies of this article is that as an empirical research, this study still have the problem of small sample size, because of the difficulties encountered in the survey cost and time constraints. And the samples are also lack of representation and extensiveness as we choose Samples in convenience way but not the random way. At the same time, due to the limited space, this article failed to carry out comprehensive analysis of social capital, its mechanism has not been given a complete explanation yet. In addition, as a result of my research capabilities limited, this research has not carried out further quantitative evaluation about the effect of access to resources on the intermediary role. All the above is a regret of this paper.
