Abstract


The relevance of the population and economic development has become the focus of attention by scholars at home and abroad at early times. As a center of regional economy, politics and culture, cities are particularly important at the status of national economic development, by their strong effects of population agglomeration and economic radiation. With the mention of scientific concept of development, people-oriented, and the construction of a harmonious society, the relevance of the urban population and economic development has become a focus of attention of scholars. As a special region of our country, the west has won more and more attention by the state and local governments. Since our country implemented the western development policy, the population, the quality and structure of the population in western cities have been noticeably improved and economic development has also made an unprecedented achievement. But at the same time, the unbalanced situation of population and economic development in the west is gradually expanding, lack of qualifications of the person, and the mode of economic growth is unreasonable. All these are bound to the development of the western city. Therefore, coordinating the development of western urban population and economy, promoting all the western cities’ balanced development are the most important jobs in furture.Firstly, this thesis combs of the related literature of the population and economic development at home and abroad systematically and gives a briefly discuss. On the basis of above this thesis analyzes the interaction mechanism of the urban population and economic development, focusing on the analysis of the interaction between population, population quality, population structure and economic development. Next, according to the situation of western urban population and economic development in recent years, this thesis analyzes the trends of the situation of the western urban population by statistical described method, and analyzes the spatial and temporal differences of western economic development in accordance with the degree of data dispersion. In the empirical part, from the perspective of time series and spatial sequence, this thesis analyzes the relevance of western urban population and economic development through the method of establishing the target system of population and economic development, also explains the empirical results. Finally, this thesis makes population and ecmonic measures according to problems of western urban population and economic development in the corresponding response.
