Abstract

The basic properties of polymeric aluminum-ferric chloride (PAFC), which is a new efficient inorganic polymer flocculation, was studied. Base on the formers’studies, this thesis introduced a new method to make PAFC. Made the orthogonal test first, then had a careful research on characteristics of PAFC by baking process. Effect of preparing conditions on the morphological distribution and the stability of PAFC was tested. And the flocculating efficiency of PAFC was also preliminarily examined.Through the research, conclusions were as follow:1. PAFC was prepared with AlCl3·6H2O and FeCl3·6H2O as raw materials by baking process. The optimal method was obtained using orthogonal test: nAl/nFe =5:5; baking temperature 260℃; baking time 25min; maturation time 4h; PAFC dosage of 9mg/L.2. The product quality of PAFC: basic ratio,(Al2O3+Fe2O3)% and pH(1% solution) conformed to the national GB15892-2003 standard. Crystal type and appearance of PAFC was studied by SEM and XRD.3. The ratio of raw materials (nAl/nFe), baking temperature and baking time had great influence on basic ratio, (Al2O3+Fe2O3)%, morphological distribution and coagulating efficiency of PAFC; maturation time had less influence on these capabilities.4. The dilution times had less influence on morphological distribution. The pH had great influence on morphological distribution. PAFC had relative stability of dilution times.5. The flocculating efficiency was different between self-made PAFC and industrial PAC. The capacity of self-made PAFC was better than the industrial PAC.
