Abstract


Pragmatic connectives is a common phenomenon of language, they can be connected to two linguistic elements can also be connected to a language component and a non-linguistic background. Have a high chance of appearing in the written language and spoken language pragmatic connectives, therefore, a proper understanding of the kind of word, for the people of verbal communication plays an important role. Since the early 1980s, in Ducrot people driven, pragmatic connectives become the object of many linguists study. However, for pragmatic connectives function, linguists are given different answers. However, within the framework of relevance theory, the pragmatic function of conjunctions got the best interpretation. The related theory is that human cognition based on optimal relevance oriented, verbal communication, the correlation depends on the cognitive effects of verbal stimulation and efforts to deal with the stimulus needed to pay. Under the same conditions, to obtain the understanding of the effect is greater the greater the relevance; the effort in order to achieve the effect is smaller, the greater the relevance. The theory of language encoding new definition of that language symbols can be encoded program information and conceptual information. Wherein Pragmatic conjunctions mainly encoding program information, it is possible to reduce a listener looking for an association, the number of assumptions are made in the understanding discourse, thereby limiting the scope of understanding, helps to obtain the best way to understand. Relevance Theory as a main theoretical basis to investigate the function of pragmatic connectives intended to illustrate: (1) verbal communication, not only can guide people in understanding the meaning of the discourse, savings in the understanding of discourse pragmatic connectives when the effort needed, and can enable people to get some of the cognitive effects from the reasoning of the connection, thus increasing the relevance of the words in the expression; (2) in generating cognitive effects based on pragmatic connectives can play a certain discourse and interpersonal function. Structural system of this paper are as follows: Introduction; Chapter to determine the scope of the study, and pragmatic overview of the characteristics of the syntax and semantics of the connectives; second chapter, a brief review of the three branches of Pragmatic connectives research presented in this rely on the theoretical framework of the Institute; Chapter generalize the associated theory and within the framework of this theory, analysis of pragmatic connectives; fifth, sixth chapter, analysis Pragmatic connectives Discourse function and interpersonal function; Chapter VII, the study of language applications; Last Full Summary, and pointed out that further research directions.
