Abstract

The technical and tactical changes and trends of the Women’s singles player under the new competition format are analyzed by the vertical comparison of the new Women’s singles competition format and the old Women’s singles competition format and horizontal comparison of the new men’s singles competition format and new Women’s singles competition. The sample analyzed are the world’s top badminton tournaments of outstanding male and female badminton players,including 68 matches of new Women’s competition format,32 matches of old Women’s competition format and 56 matches of new Men’s competition format.The vertical comparison of the new Women’s singles competition format and the old Women’s singles competition format showed:the backcourt service is mainly used both in the old and new Women’s singles competition format,and the trends ascend in the new competition format. The proportions of the 6 placements to the number of service in the old and new competition format are of no significant difference,which means the new competition format has little impact of the placements of service. The backcourt techniques are used mainly among the return of services in new Women’s competition format,while the proportions of smash and hooking experience notable growth.The backcourt techniques experience some decrease,middle-court increase and forecourt no notable change. Overall,the offensive of new Women’s singles competition format was stronger than that of the old competition format.The most notable performance is that killing among the return of service and backcourt techniques have significantly increased.The horizontal comparison of the new men’s singles competition format and new Women’s singles competition showed:in new Men’s singles competition format,the forecourt is used mainly among services compared with new Women’s singles competition format,and with more various.The proportions of the 6 placements to the number of service are of significant differences.The forecourt techniques are used mainly among the return of services in new Women’s competition format,and putting is used to organize offensive.The forecourt and middle-court techniques are used more frequently in the new Men’s competition format than in the Women’s,and the doubles of the techniques of single competition format is more obviously.The offensive is greater in the new Men’s competition format than in the Women’s.The proportion of killing are of 20 percent in the new Men’s competition format than in the Women’s and express significant differences through independent samples T-test(t=-10.654,df=122,p=0.000).The offensive has experienced some increase in the new Women’s singles competition format compared with the old one,and still with large room to improve compared with the new Men’s competition format.Despite the impact of physical fitness and ability,the female single players could not match the male singles players,they can learn the tactical awareness from the male player,not only strengthen the offensive,but also actively create conditions for the attack,in order to expedite adapt to the new event.
