Abstract


Peace and development have become the theme of the world situation, competition among countries, mainly economic competition, and economic competitiveness, specifically, national industries and competition among enterprises. With the in-depth development of economic globalization, as well as our active participation in the international division of labor for the Chinese economy and the world's increasingly close economic ties, China's various industries and enterprise development space is not confined to the domestic market, but in a broader developments on the world market, but also competition between industries or enterprises are no longer in the country, but rather in the various countries and industries or enterprises. Iron and steel industry is the basic industry of the national economy, the development of China's economy has been in a dominant position, the development of China's steel industry has long been the national attention, the rapid development of China's steel industry, formed a complete industrial system mature. Especially since the reform and opening up, driven by rapid economic development and national policies under the guidance of China's steel industry has undergone a period of rapid development, and achieved fruitful results. At present, China's steel industry, a large number of steel mills, large production capacity, enhance research and development capabilities, variety, complete specifications, has become the world's largest steel producer and consumer countries. Crude steel production in China since 1996, after more than 100 million tons, by 2007 for 12 consecutive years of living in the world's steel output power position since 2002 replaced the U.S. as the first steel importer. 2006 crude steel production reached 419 million tons, the production of iron and steel materials include various functional materials, structural steel materials, high temperature alloy and precision alloy total more than 1000 varieties, more than 40,000 specifications, most varieties of steel in quality has basically meet the economic development and national defense construction. Over the years, China's steel industry by leaps and bounds, but its international competitiveness how; what are the problems and bottlenecks in the development; China's steel industry's international competitiveness and so are the ways to further improve the issues to be discussed in this paper. Firstly, domestic and foreign experts and scholars for industrial competitiveness studies were reviewed, and an overview of the theoretical basis of this paper discusses the sources of international competitiveness of industry; development of China's steel industry in the analysis of the status quo based on the competitiveness evaluation related research and steel industry characteristics, select specific targets by major steel-producing countries and the international comprehensive evaluation and comparison of China's steel industry's international competitiveness situation, a correct understanding of China's steel industry internationally competitive level; then Porter's \insufficient, the final paper according to the previous conclusions of the theory and analysis of China's steel industry to further enhance international competitiveness, made a number of targeted and constructive suggestions.
