Abstract

The dispersive tube structure, studied in this thesis, is a new structure of high-performance which takes a series of relatively smaller tubes as load-bearing components and assembles them together through beams and floors to enhance lateral force resistance. This structure has lots of advantages, such as clear structures, flexible arrangement, balanced-vertical stiffness distribution, light shear lag effects and excellent seismic performance. This article first reviews development trends and characteristics of the high-building structure. Then demonstrated are the features of structural optimizing designs, the concept of dispersive tube structure and current researches on it. Based on previous researches, the finite element software ETABS is applied in this study to optimize structural designs of the dispersive tube structure and the frame-tube structure. During the ETABS analysis, similar load conditions and the type of load combination are defined according to the actual situation. Simulations are conducted by the full three-dimensional finite element method-the shell type for walls, the membrane module type for floors and the liner type for beams respectively.Under related norms, this thesis carries out a comprehensive study for these two structure systems in the following aspects:1 to study the lateral displacement of these structures by level force.2 to study the bottom axial compression ratios of these two structures.3 to study cycle characteristics of these structures.4 to analysis economic utilities of these structures through the consumption of concrete and steel. In accordance with functions of the dispersive tube structure and the frame-tube structure, optimizing models are designed and the reinforcement is calculated. Thethesis concludes as following:1, By calculating the wind load, their layer displacements are compared. The displacement of the former is only half of that of the latter, indicating that the dispersive tube structure performances better in the anti-lateral displacement.2, The bottom axial compression ratio of the former is smaller than that of the latter. Thus the dispersive tube structure has better ductility and can be used to build higher buildings.3, The cycle of the former is smaller than that of the latter, indicating that the dispersive tube structure has better stiffness.4, Supplement calculations for the dispersive tube structure are conducted by the time-history analysis. In the time-history analysis of three-wave, the maximum displacement at the top meets related norms. 5, The dispersive tube structure consumes less concrete so that it has smaller mass and performs better under same seismic forces, indicating that it is more suitable for high buildings than the frame-tube structure. The dispersive tube structure also consumes less steel and is more economic than the latter in same circumstances. Finally comes the conclusion that the dispersive tube structure performances better than the frame-tube structure in both economic utility and security.
