Abstract


The twentieth century was one period that urbanization developed fleetly, urbanization is the objective requirement and comprehensive preferment of the social economic development and the whole social progress. Urbanization process is dynamic process that involves social, economical, population and spatial overall changes; it not only has continuity in time serial, but also has otherness on space structure. There are many factors of social change that impact on urban development and they have main impact on the process of urbanization and the regional spatial structure. The social changes in each period concretely reflect on urbanization process.Before China carried out economic reforming and open-up policy, the Northeast China has ever been the key region of China’s industrialization, so the industrialization and the urbanization have developed fast. Since the revolution and opening-up, the urbanization speed has slowed down and there arises a series of changes, such as“Northeast Phenomenon”and“New Northeast Phenomenon”. The Central Party makes the decision of remaking and rejuvenating the old industrial base of Northeast in 2003. This policy has provided the new opportunity to the development of Northeast and promoted the development of the urbanization.This paper takes Northeast China as study area to investigate the social changes’impacts on space-time evolvement of urbanization. Firstly, this article summarizes the development and the space-time evolvement of urbanization in Northeast China since China carried out economic reforming and open-up policy. Than this paper analyses the factors that have impacted the development of urbanization in Northeast China on quantitative research through factor analyze and makes out the main factors which are economic development and institutional evolution. Based on the above analysis, this article studies the economic development and institutional evolutions that have impacted on space-time evolvement of urbanization since China carried out economic reforming and open-up policy. Finally, Integrating calculation with qualitative analysis, this paper studies the function mechanism that economic development and institutional evolutions impact on space-time evolvement of urbanization in Northeast China.
