Abstract


In 1970s,with the idea of career education bringing out, career education content was put into general education,which is "career clusters curriculum" that are still seen as the method of American curriculum reform.which appears in 1960s, until 1970s, it starts to be formally one of teaching organization form of career education idea and changes American general education. But in that period , career clusters curriculum was as a pilot to try out .Until 1990s,career education has an innovation,The Department of Education introduced career clusters curriculum again.By the end of 20th century, a lot of States have carried out it.The government made some interrelated rules and polices to make sure implements.And Missouri made a complete curriculum program in carrying out career clusters curriculum.we can see the characteristic of this curriculum through introducting the goal、content、implement and value of the career clusters in detail.This paper mainly have several parts,as follows:PartⅠdiscusses the development and the status of the career clusters curriculum,which contains three aspects of curriculum——the production,the development and the present situation and the main point is that with the concept of career education bringing out ,the government implements curriculum organization form based on career clusters, and the School to Work promulgateing,American career clusters curriculum go through from no to have,From the development to the prosperity.PartⅡillustrates the idea and polices of American career cluster curriculum and the main point is that the idea of the curriculum originated in the view of Dewey ’s careereducation,That is, career education is one of the aspects of career education,and reflected by the concept of New Career education.American made a lot of polices to make sure career clusters implementation,which include career education rule and other rules.PartⅢintroduces the structure and function of the career clusters curriculum, including: structure and function of Pyramid ,Vertical Level and Maryland.PartⅣelaborates the implementation of American career clusters curricular, including:goals、contents、curriculum plan、curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation,ect.PartV finally analyzes the characteristics of American career clusters curricular through the discusses of above four parts .
