Abstract


Standardized classification and coding of learning resources is the first step of the organazition and management of learning resources, and is an effective way to manage, retrieve, share and reuse E-learning resources. An efficient E-learning resource classification and coding strategy can provide a high quality service for E- learning resource users. During the process of developing "Classification and codes of learning resource for Learning, education and training", both of classification and coding have been discussed with the resource situation has been considered, and finally the paper presents the strategy of E-learning resource classification and coding in terms of users, subject matters and resource formats and realizes normal and unified of resource classification and coding.The essay consists of five parts: Firstly, we make an investigation on several popular classification methods at home and aboard, also related standards published by international and national standardization organizations are analyzed in this section, so as to draw the conclusion that it’s necessary to propose a completely new system of resource classification and code in E-learning field.Secondly, focusing on the characteristics of E-learning resources, we propose the principles of constructing E-learning resource cataloging system, then choose the cataloging methods, establish cataloging rules, and consequently put forward a multi-dimensional E-learning resource classification system which is composed of E-learning resource subject-classification system, E-learning resource applicable object-classification system and E-learning resource format-classification system.Thirdly, on the basis of the resource classification system, according to related coding theory, we choose some suitable coding methods to construct the resource code system which is composed of E-learning resource subject-code system, E-learning resource applicable object-code system and E-learning resource format-code system correspondingly. Also, the resource classification and coding table is presented here.Fourthly, as the author has been participating in the project of "rural educational resource allocation and remote service platform", the paper presents the application scheme and the specific resource classification table of standard in the project,.Lastly, a universal query module of E-learning resource classification and code is developed to make it convenience for users to get resource code.
