Abstract


Background:Carbon disulfide（CS2） is an important industrial raw materials for vulcanizing mainly in viscose fiber,carbon tetrachloride and rubber.CS2 is a systemic poison,with a wide range of organizations toxicity,the nervous system is one of the major target tissue.Human who were suffered a large dose of CS2 in a short-time may cause death,high dose of CS2 exposure may cause acute poisoning in the central nervous system,which manifested as mental or neurological symptoms,long-term exposure in a low dose can cause chronic poisoning.In recent years,with the improvement of industrial hygiene conditions,acute poisoning caused by large dose of CS2 is rare phenomenon.However,whether long-term exposure in a low dose of CS2 will affect nervous system of workers has attracted the researchers of the world.Purpose:Researchers have different views about whether long-term exposure in a low dose of CS2 will affect nervous system of workers.In this study,the effect of the long-term exposure in a low dose of CS2 to nervous system was evaluated with a system evaluation.Methods:Meta analysis method was used to analyze the included studies. Heterogeneity test,the combined effect of the value,sensitivity analysis and the assessment of bias was conducted with the Rev-Manage software.If the data have Homogeneity,the total OR and 95%CI were estimated with a fixed-effects model, otherwise a random effects model was used.Results:10 independent researches were included.The main results were as follows:total OR value of CS2-exposed caused headache was 2.23 and 95%CI of OR was 1.23-4.02（P＜0.01）;total OR value of CS2-exposed caused Memory disturbances was 3.31,and 95%CI of OR values was 1.20-9.16（P＜0.05）;total OR value of CS2-exposed caused sleepless was 5.68,and 95%CI of OR value was 1.64-19.67（P＜0.01）;total OR value of CS2-exposed caused Visual symptoms was 2.90,and 95%CI of OR values was 1.03-8.14,（P＜0.05）;total OR value of CS2-exposed caused abnormal EEG was 4.63,and 95%CI values of OR was 2.85-7.52（P＜0.01）. CS2-exposed workers have high morbidity on headache,Memory disturbances, sleepless,visual symptoms,abnormal EEG.Conclusion:The results suggest that CS2 have toxic effects on human nervous system,further researches are needed to study the mechanistic of CS2 affect on human nervous system.
