Abstract

As can be seen from the history of the development of online games , online games are becoming increasingly complex , evolved from the initial simple online play for the virtual world of today's complex game . Today , a good online game , online at the same time the number will reach hundreds of thousands or even millions . In order to meet such a large number of players , the game operators have to upgrade the hardware configuration of the server . But the emergence of multi-core processors makes the server program performance increase can not be obtained from the higher CPU frequency , simply upgrade the hardware is not enough to solve the problem . This thesis is based on the server-side development of online games , a suitable parallel programming model for network game server development , summarized by comparing research works on single-core processor and multi-core processors . On this basis, the use of the work breakdown structure (Work Breakdown Structure, abbreviated as WBS) to optimize the entire server architecture , the system is divided into smaller particle size independent subsystem , designed to reduce the degree of coupling between modules . At the same time research the the learning adaptive communication environment ( Adaptive CommunicationEnvironment , abbreviated as ACE) development kit , including proactive (Proactor) mode to achieve high-performance network communication module to comply with the rules of parallel computing . Use interprocess communication service access point (Inter-Process Communication Service Access Points, abbreviated as the IPC SAP) mechanism to achieve a cross-platform implementation of inter-process communication module . The system integrates Lua scripting language , and take advantage of the flexibility of the language itself has brought convenience to the deployment of the system and secondary development . The research in this paper not only solves the multicore environment server resource utilization , but also to facilitate system expansion , upgrade and maintenance work to improve the efficiency and quality of system development . At the same time provide a system-level reuse support system development for different types of online games . So that the secondary development staff to devote more energy on game logic implementations and play design , reduces server development threshold , reducing the burden on developers .
