Abstract


The paper reviewed the background, concept and theory basis of EVA. It discussed formula as well as relevant adjusted items, and then summarized the functions advantages and disadvantages. On the basis of above theory to EVA, it discussed how to use EVA as new performance index system in electric power corporation: firstly, reviewing history of EVA using in China, it put forward to realistic meaning of use EVA in central enterprises. Secondly, it analyzed formula and adjusted items of EVA, and calculated EVA of electric power corporation in Hebei Province in 2005 and 2006 year. It further analyzed the cause that EVA index was negative. Finally, it put forward to existed problems and relevant suggestions.
