Abstract

Concrete synergist CTF (referred to as CTF) is a new concrete admixture, which can ensure the basis of concrete quality, and at the same time do a reduction of the amount of cement, it consistents with the direction of energy-saving development.Through a large number of experiments, it is researched about the effect of performance of cement-based paste, mortar and concrete with CTF in. Concrete performance includes mixture properties, mechanical properties and concrete shrinkage-cracking properties. The main results obtained are as follows:(1)The appropriate content of CTF is 0.5-0.8% of total cementitious materials, when much more than appropriate content, the cement paste and concrete with CTF in have a longer setting time, and a slow development of early mechanical properties.(2)CTF has a little effect for the initial fluidity of the paste, but significantly reduces the fluidity loss by time, and increases the paste viscosity. The incorporation of CTF has increased fluidity of mortar.(3)CTF has a significant influence on concrete mixture performance, in particular in:cohesiveness increased, water retention increased, slump loss by time reduced and air content of concrete slightly increased, etc.(4)CTF has a little effect on mechanical properties of early age of paste and mortar, but has a significantly increasing effect on the latter age.(5)The incorporation of CTF has increased the value of early contractions of mortar and concrete, but with increasing age there are different levels of reduction by the comparison with reference test. When the cement consumption decreased by 10%, the value of early shrinkage is almost the same, the latter value is less than the reference group. Flat early cracking test results correspond to the experimental results of concrete shrinkage, the concrete with a direct incorporation of CTF has more serious cracking, the concrete with a reduction of the amount of cement and CTF has a slighter cracking rather than reference concrete. (6)From the comprehensive analysis of the work performance, mechanical properties and shrinkage-cracking properties, it is recommended to use CTF in engineering applications as the way to reduce a certain amount of cement.
